Facebook Live for Your Business

Facebook Live

Facebook Live is a new video marketing tool available on the largest social media website on the planet, and if you have been following the Knoxweb blog, you will know that video marketing is the strongest, if not THE strongest way to optimize your business or organization on the World Wide Web.

Facebook Live is a feature that allows you and your business to connect with fans, followers, and friends by sharing video in real time. Although it has been slowing rolling out since August of 2015, Facebook Live has been slow to get going, but like a freight train is becoming more popular, but how do you incorporate the Facebook Live feature into your marketing campaign?

Originally introduced to a select group of Facebook users, the Live feature was created to control the bandwidth demand and to create less noise through the Facebook feed. Although there are several live streaming services available, Facebook Live will be the one to watch. Keep in mind; you can still upload videos on your Facebook page.

Broadcasting

If you are broadcasting through your Facebook profile, all you have to do is update your status and click the, “Live,” icon. Your title is actually the status update. Write a description that will go into your news feed and in your notifications. Just like your other status updates, you can choose your audience before you hit the live icon. You can choose friends only, specific friends, or you can go public.

Point your camera device outward or at yourself depending on what you are trying to broadcast. During your Facebook Live broadcast, you will see live viewers who are tuning in, liking and commenting in real time. With FB Live, you can even answer in real time. While fans, friends, and others are watching your live broadcast on Facebook, they can subscribe so that they will be notified the next time you and your business go live. Once you have ended your broadcast, it will be saved on your timeline, just like any other video.

Following

Make sure that you have the Facebook Follower Option enabled before you go live, as it will allow you to reach a larger audience. Even people who aren’t your friends can follow you and receive public updates. You will find it in your personal profile

Enable the Follow feature by going to your settings and clicking on Followers located in the column on the left. Next, select, “Everybody,” can follow me. Now friends and followers will be notified every time you and your business or organization goes live. Keep in mind, that if your posts have previously gone public and you want to share your next live broadcast with friends only, you will need to go in and select that option.

Improve your Video

Knoxweb recommends that you make sure you know what you are talking about before you go Live. Plan ahead, as there is nothing worse than a video about nothing. Rambling discussions will turn off your followers who may not tune in the next time you decide to broadcast live. Planning can do wonders for your reputation and your bottom line.

Write a title that relates to what your broadcast is about and don’t forget to make it compelling. When people are notified that you are going Live, the only thing they will see is the title. Your title is what will make them decide whether they want to watch your broadcast or not.
